Hello everyone- I have a brand-new laptop at work hooked up to a port and a brand-new The BoomC microphone both installed tonight. Unfortunately the playback is coming out of the port speakers instead of the microphone.  I have done a sound check and everything shows as for as the playback working.  How do I make a change for the playback to come out of the microphone?  I don't know where to go on the computer to find this setting.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Rita

Rita,

Right-click on the speaker icon in the systray to the left of the clock and select playback devices. You should see your options for playback devices and you should see that the playback device that is currently selected is the computer speakers. What you wanted do is click on the appropriate device for your BoomC and set it to the default for playback. After which, everything should come through the your earphone(s)/headphone(s) on your microphone. Just keep in mind that Windows controls the default Recording and Playback devices, not Dragon.

In your particular case, the problem stems from the fact that you have a half duplex USB soundcard which does not include sound playback. Just remove the green speaker plug from your Andrea USB soundcard and plug it into the speaker output jack on your notebook computer.
