Making a Hyperlink Blue and Live in Microsoft Word

When I put a hyperlink in Microsoft Word for example, if I have the cursor at the end of the hyperlink and then say, "Spacebar," then the hyperlink will change from black text to blue text and become live. I can then activate the hyperlink from Microsoft Word to take me to the website concerned.

I have noticed the hyperlink only changes to blue and becomes live if I have KnowBrainer on. If I only have DNS on its own, when performing the function as described in my first paragraph, the hyperlink does not change to blue and become live.

Is there a way that I can make a hyperlink live as described in the first paragraph with DNS on only without KnowBrainer?

Dragon NaturallySpeaking window box displays the following error: File 'KB2012Plus' not found.

I have just installed Dragon NaturallySpeaking 12.5 Premium with KnowBrainer Rev D. The problem I am having is that some KnowBrainer commands work but some of my favourite commands do not. The commands "window left half" and similar give the above error message.

Any ideas?

Can't copy the profile

I'm trying to do everything absolutely right as I'm on Dragon 12.5 professional. I'm trying to do a profile backup and I keep on getting the message that it can't copy it and either to reinstall Dragon or to reboot the computer. Is there a simple solution to this please

"Hibernate" command stops working

All of a sudden the "hibernate" command won't work. I've tried holding down the control key to force command recognition – no luck. The computer has been running all day but rebooted in the morning. Any idea what the problem is?

I remember it has something to do with going in the "processes" or "services" in the task manager and turning something off but I'm not sure what to turn off and if it is safe to do so.

Dragon Suddenly Running in Windows Compatibility Mode

I am running Dragon NaturallySpeaking 12.5 Legal under Windows 7 64-bit (I made the upgrade from 12.0 weeks ago). All of the sudden, I am receiving the following message when starting Dragon:

Dragon NaturallySpeaking appears to be running in Windows Compatibility Mode, which may result in errors. We recommend disabling Compatibility Mode for the natspeak.exe program.

I opened the Properties dialog box for natspeak.exe only to find the "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" box unchecked. In other words, the program has NOT been set to run in Windows Compatibility Mode.

Dragon NaturallySpeaking launches and runs fine for the most part. However, I am finding that some of my commands are suddenly no longer working.

Has anyone encountered this problem? Any suggestions to fix it?

I'm now getting a dialog box that shows me what I'm saying as I am saying it. Although I can see how this is helpful, I need to turn it off: I have a type of visual ADHD that makes me extremely distracted by things moving on a page. I have a hard time concentrating and working with the Dragon dialog box constantly changing shape and typing what I'm saying.

I'm guessing this is related to KnowBrainer, as this feature appeared after I installed KnowBrainer.

How do I turn this feature off?

cannot dictate email

I use DNS 12 and KB med 2012. I have started having problems dictating emails in Outlook 2010. I can dictate in the address and subject fields, but not in the body of the email. When I click on the body to begin dictating their, the little dragon symbol locates itself over the microphone symbol at the top of my screen and the recognition window either states please say that again or some command totally unrelated to what I am trying to dictate.it does not relocate to where I am trying to dictate like it normally does.it used to do this only when trying to email a currently dictated word document as an attachment to the email. Now it is doing it with new emailsand replies as well.

I would appreciate any guidance as to cause and/or cure.

I have had to do a new install of Windows 7 professional on my desktop. This is my main dictating computer. I am using DNS 12.5 and a 3 in 1 table Mike. I am trying to reinstall KB 2012 rev B. If I used the setup program, my 32 character serial number is invalid. If I try to run the disc, the message is that it is not a valid Win32 application. Obviously I am doing something wrong and probably stupid. Could you please get me back on track.

I have started receiving an error message when I start KnowBrainer 2012. It is listed as a KB2011 error message and it says:

Run-time error ‘-2147024809 (80070057)’:

COM returned an unexpected error code: Details are The parameter is incorrect.

(ERROR_INVALID_PARAMETER, 87)

I tried reinstalling the programme but so far nothing seems to work. I have searched on the KnowBrainer website and have not found any information about this. I have uninstalled and reinstalled KB2012. I even did a System Restore. Nothing has worked.

I am running Dragon NaturallySpeaking Premium 12.5 on Windows 8 Pro with SpeechStart + (beta).

What can I do to fix this?

Transfer to Notepad

I have Knowbrainer 2011 and DMPE. I have tried w/o success to use Lunis' notepad replacement for the dictation box without success. I cannot find the global commands in Knowbrainer for Transfer, Transfer Next or Previous, or Transfer Next or Previous <1-20> although I do have the commands specific to Notepad to transfer the Notepad contents back into the previous window. Could someone please post the contents of those 3 commands?

Knowbrainer "copy command" does not work for me

I have been trying to use the Knowbrainer "copy command" but I am having problems; it fails when it tries to switch to Notepad.

It works fine until the line HeardWord "switch","to","Notepad" . It fails to grab focus so the rest of the command does not work properly. Saying "switch to notepad" works fine.

I have changed the ForegroundFlashCount to 1 as suggested for a similar problem in Windows 7 (I am using Windows 8) but it still does not work. The ForegroundLockTimeout was already set to 0.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance

New commands for Knowbrainer only work for a while

I have written commands so I can play Civilisation V without using my hands and they are stored in a file called CIVILIZATIONV_DX11.dvc. It runs via Steam.

However, I have the following problem. After playing the game for a while my commands are no longer recognised. If I Leave Civilisation V and go into Windows 8 the Knowbrainer commands such as "Windows left half" still work as they should.

To get my commands to work again I have to close Knowbrainer and restart it. It will work for a while until I have to close and restart it again.

Any ideas?

KB 2012 keeps on crashing

Running KB2012 with Dragon Medical 11 (UK version). Since updating KB I have had repeated crashes effectively crippling my DNS. The constant error code is 'run-time error 429- Active X component cannot create object'. Anyway to resolve this?

DNS slows way down

Dragon NaturallySpeaking is slowing to the point of nail biting. It makes it very hard and time-consuming to have to wait to see if whats is being said is correct. Sometimes, if I shut down KnowBrainer it seems to help. The wait time for the words to appear goes from 3 to 5 seconds, and sometimes up to 10 seconds (with KnowBrainer on) to about 1 second (with just DNS on). There are many features I have come to rely on and voice the wrong command if I'm just using DNS without KnowBrainer. The slider on the speed vs. accuracy is set at about 3/4th's to the left. I have tried shutting down many of the Settings in the options dialog box. But it still doesn't help. Shutting off DNS sometimes helps. I have even tried shutting down the computer and restarting, but that is a pain. Especially when I'm doing something and get so fed up with the wait.

I defragment the hard drive on a regular basis, once per week, but I not certain that would become that noticable of a problem.

Does anybody have an idea of why? Or how it may be corrected

i have read other thread to fight my dragon install, i downloaded the removertool. and finally got dragon completly uninstalled, then reinstalled.

this time i got alittle further, however, new issue: it says user profile not ready for dictation, but you cannot click the profile link on dragon. but the speech training window is up, when you click the start it says mic not on, when i click the mic icon, it says user profile is nit ready for dictation.

dear GAWD someone tell this old woman how to make it work. i have done more typing since i have tried to install it, then before, i don't have much hair left to pull out. and have run out of cuss words yesterday. i have had hand surgery so note this is rally hard...

any help would be appreciated.

I have been a Dragon user/trainer for many years now and remember the good old days when you were able to create a command so that you could say "Take 1" and Dragon would hear "Choose 1". I have a client who has significant speech problems and I thing making a few command changes would help her.

In the Advanced Scripting I would type

Sub Main

HeardWord "choose","one"

End Sub

I am unable to see where I can do this in Dragon 12.5 Pro. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm having trouble with the above characters.

I am using the English/German version of Dragon Premium 12. I even got a German keyboard, thinking that this might do the trick but no luck.

When I say this, I get that:

Star (

Colon Ü

Question mark '

Semicolon ü

Nuance told me that my program (Wordfast, a translation program) is simply not compatible with Dragon. These items do work correctly in Word.

Any idea what I could try to handle this?

Call number command problem

I use the (call number) command all the time.
When I first started using the (call number) command it always worked perfectly whether there were parentheses or hyphens. Now when it copies in the number the hyphens are included and after dialing always get the message number no longer available valid or something.
Any ideas of what might be going wrong with the dialer.

Google Chrome functionality for DNS

Hi,

I'm attempting to find out if Dragon NaturallySpeaking has any plans to integrate full functionality for Google Chrome in the near future. (I'm currently using DNS 12 Premium edition, but I'm willing to upgrade to professional if I need to in order to use Google Chrome) I'm on a Windows 7 computer.

I called customer support and they were completely useless. Currently, I use Internet Explorer because that's the only browser fully functional with DNS. However, many of Google's websites are challenging to use with IE9. Including Google apps.

Does anyone know if a) Dragon is planning to integrate this functionality in the near future? Or

b) a way to make this work? I am computer literate but not a coder, so please keep that in mind when answering.

Really really looking forward to any help folks on the form might be able to offer! Thank you.

KB and Dragon: how to most efficiently click on links in IE?

I am new to using KBand Dragon 12. I went through the Dragon tutorials and it seems that I should be able to click on links that show up during an Internet search by just saying, "click<name>". For instance if I was searching for something on NaturallySpeaking, I should be able to just say "click NaturallySpeaking "if one of the search results is NaturallySpeaking. However, nothing is happening when I'm saying this. also, when I try to say "click links" I keep going to the BING home page.

any thoughts on how to make this work better?

I should say that I am physically not able to type on the computer, so I need to rely voice-recognition exclusively. Do I need to create my own macros in order to more quickly click on links that show up on the web? I welcome any advice from experienced users here.

I have a new fast laptop from M-Tech, but I'm back using my old computer and software because it's too laborious for me to use the Internet just using MouseGrid right now.

DNS Pro 12.5 doesn't close with KB

Hi,

Since upgrading my DNS Pro 12.5 it doesn't shut down with KB when I close it. It stays in system tray except the 'Exit Dragon' disappears. I have to go to Window Task Manager and End natspeak.exe Process. I always close KB before closing DNS and KB always closes.

If I don't run KB DNS closes correctly.

How can I fix this?

How to create a time stamp?

I want a voice activated time stamp so when doing a note in an emr I can just say "time stamp" and it will write the doctors name, current time and date . I will create a short sentence also.

Is this is Knowbrainer already or something similar?

I know you can stop KnowBrainer commands working by unchecking the 'Active' window in the KnowBrainer Command Browser.

Can you turn them all off in one go and then just check the 'Active' window on the ones you wish to use? If so, how do you do this?

starting KB automatically on startup

I'm having trouble getting KB 13 to open automatically on startup. I dragged the shortcut icon into the startup folder as per directions. It's also pinned to the Start menu; is that right? In any case it does not open automatically when I start the computer. When I open it manually, a box pops up with the message: "Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer? KB 2013.exe". I click "yes," but it asks me again the next time. What should I do?

DNS 10 Professional Problems

I'm running Windows XP 32-bit, 3.5g memory, Intel 3GHz, with DNS 10 professional. I was having a certain issue with my voice software that I attempted to resolve by running service pack 1 from the nuance site. Directly afterwards, I have not been able to use any commands to operate MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word, all v2010. The Add-Ins are present in each of these pieces of software. They are not disabled, but they don't appear to be working ever since the SP1 install. Any advice please?

Selecting links on knowbrainer screen

When I am trying to read about a topic on the knowbrainer website I use the "click link" command and select the # that I want. The numbers only go to 50. Does anyone know how to select the links that are below the #50 by voice? The only way I know is mouse window and that is not very efficient.

I believe this is a false positive of gen:variant.barys.2602 virus

KB compared to Utter Command

I've been using an add-on Dragon for a couple years now Utter Command. Because of an injury, I don't have the ability to type so I need the system to be hands-free. Now that I'm thinking of updating my computer and upgrading Dragon to version 12, I wanted to see if anyone out here has experience using UC and KB. If so, have you noticed any differences between the two programs, either in terms of their focus or what they can do?

In general, for people who really need KB to be hands-free, did you find that you had to train yourself a lot to become familiar with the tools? Is moving the mouse around pretty easy?

I just found out about this forum this past week, and have been delighted and learning quite a bit.

Dragon Pro 12

I am getting a space before ending punctuation which I cannot stop. This is happening in every program I use, CAT and Word and WordPerfect. I am also not getting a capped next word after punctuation. I didn't have this problem with 11.5. I am using Dragon in a 32 bit and 64 bit Windows 7 OS. I have a dual boot setup now in my desktop. Both drives are having the same problem, although the 64 bit is faster and recognition is good. With all this software, I should be able to resolve glitches somehow I would think. Not happening, though. It is really a problem with the transcription work I have been doing recently.

Know-brainer and screensaver/power settings

I am using Windows 7 64-bit OS with the DNS premium 12 and a Speech Ware 6 in 1 Table Mike. It appears that Know-Brainer is having an effect on my screensaver and power settings. When know-brainer is on my screensaver does not activate at the designated 10 minutes of no activity. Also my display does not turn off at the designated one hour setting and the computer will not go to sleep when know-brainer is activated. It does not appear to be the microphone as it is "always on" and this never happened when I had DNS alone. As soon as I've turned off KB screensaver and power settings operate normally. Can I correct this problem? I have KB and DNS activated for most of the day because I am made ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease) patient and rely heavily on voice recognition software to accomplish my daily activities however it is imperative that my screensaver and power settings work properly. Is there a way to do this without constantly deactivating KB?

KnowBrainer 2012 installation error

My attempt to install KnowBrainer 2012 from the CD resulted in this error message:

"Not a valid Win32 application."

I'm running Windows 7 64-bit. Is there a setting I need to change?

Windows 7 Magnifier

I am developing progressive vision problems which make it difficult to perform my documentation in my EHR. I found that windows 7 has a built in magnifier that is much better than the previous one found in windows XP.

I am trying to create verbal commands to turn it on and off.

I got the "ON" command to work about 1/2 the time by finding the program within windows and using a step by step command to start the program.

However, the only way I can find to turn the magnifier off , according to Microsoft, is to hold down the windows logo button and press escape. Just having the regular start menu (ctrl + escape) does not do the same thing.

I tried a few commands found in old posts to try to press and hold the windows key down, but they did not work.

Can someone help me with writing a command to consistently turn it on and another command to exit the magnifier?

I have DNS Pro 8. I bought it with KnowBrainer also. As you can tell it is not new but have had it for many years. I have never used it because I never could get my friend who I bought it for to ever take the time to learn it. He was a quad and it just was tough to get it to do what he wanted it to do so we uninstalled it on his computer and it has been sitting unused for a couple years now I suppose. My brother in law now has an issue because of shaking and is finding it very hard to work on a computer to even do the little things that he has fun doing on it. He struggles immensely with even typing so I am going to give it to him. The problem is I don't have the list of commands and can't remember where to get them to help him out to learn this stuff. I told him I would give it to him so he could see what the system was like before he even thought about buying a new upgraded version. Where can I find the commands to give to him or let him know where to find them.

Also, is the new version of this much better than v.8? Thanks for any help that can be given.

Knowbrainer video?

OK, I am prett new to using Dragon NaturallySpeaking, having purchased the Home edition of v. 12 just before Christmas. However, in the weeks since I started using it I am loving it more and more...though still trying to learn my way around.

I am intrigued with two programs I see mentioned a good bit--VoiceComputer and Knowbrainer. On the VoiceComputer there are several video clips where you can "see it in action." Is there anywhere similar for Knowbrainer? I don't want to over think this, but if I can upgrade my computer this year I would be interested in purchasing one of them. (I am currently runnint Windows XP with 2 GB of RAM.)

While neither are what I would call expensive, I'm not sure i can purchase both and I am trying to figure out which one would be the best to purchase. Any help or recommendations is always appreciated.

I would like (prefereably unbiased) opinions on whether it is worth shelling out US100 for v. 12, speficially with regard to two issues:

1) I am reasonably satisified with v. 11.5: dictation accuracy is pretty good (still have to keep a close eye on the program, though). I realize that every time Nuance comes out with a new version, they claim that accuracy will improve by about 90%. But is there really much of a difference this time?

2) My main complaint with v. 11.5 is that it is pretty unstable, and, unlike with previous versions, with it crashses it takes Word with it. In fact, I often have to reboot the comptuer to get Word running again.

Once again, any opinions of whether this expense is worth 100 dollars will be appreciated.

Commands and Roaming User

I believe that I have properly set up my roaming user network. However, if I opened the Command Browser, corrections made to a command, or for that matter a new command, made at one location did not show up at a second computer location. Any help in properly setting this up and solving the problem would be appreciated.
