I have a question.

I am finding something like the open variable the version 13+ of dragon has would help me alot with this clunky emr I have to use.

But DMPE is version 12.

I am reading they may not upgrade dmpe to 13 or higher?

Am curious if I should switch to a pro version for the functionality if this is end stage for DMPE.

Then there is vocabulary ad other issues.

Any ideas, comments, or info?

Would seem odd to stop advancing it, we dont all have network/cloud based emr/dragon, I would think the majority doesnt.

Yes Lunis, I too would be very interested to know if there is any update as to a possible U.S. version of DMPE 3 (as opposed to the very expensive and limiting cloud-based option).

Nuance is tentatively planning on releasing DMPE 2.3 on June 24. This will be a complimentary upgrade to DMPE 2 which will include Windows 10 and Office 2016 support. Nuance never releases patches or incremental upgrades when they are planning on releasing a major upgrade, within the next 12 months, so we can probably rule out DMPE 3.

On the other side of the coin, the medical community has been collectively giving Nuance a rough time over their decision to eliminate future boxed local workstation releases and force physicians to switch to Dragon Medical One (pure cloud computing) which still hasn't been released. Nuance is putting everything into Dragon Medical One but they know that their customer base doesn't want to give up the boxed local workstation option. Even though Nuance has no intention of releasing DMPE 3, we are confident that they will release DMPE 4. Unfortunately, that may not happen until the late 3rd or early 4th quarter 2017. The only way we might see an earlier release is if Dragon Medical One doesn't meet Nuance's expectations; which wouldn't surprise us.

To reiterate: Nuance's official stance is that there will not be a DMPE 3 release but we are confident that Nuance will release DMPE 4. In our opinion it's no longer if but rather when.

Although KnowBrainer Universal will permit dictation, because it will include its own speech engine, we are not designing it to be used as a speech recognition utility. We have that capability but we don't wish to compete with better designed products. KnowBrainer Universal will require a separate speech engine utility like Google, WSR, Cortana etc. but we believe we can enable open ended vocabulary command technology so even if Nuance doesn't come out with DMPE 4, you would still have the most important capability that KnowBrainer Professional 2016 can utilize in Dragon 13/14.

Is Dragon 360 a precursor to Medical One?

We suspect that Nuance will keep Dragon Medical 360 around until Dragon Medical One has solidified (for lack of a better term). At some point, we believe Nuance plans on making several versions of Dragon Medical One that will replace Dragon Medical 360. Note that it probably won't happen anytime soon because Dragon Medical One is currently missing some critical features such as Advanced Scripting command capability and cannot even utilize a third-party command utility.
