I contacted Nuance several weeks ago regarding the DPI 15 graphics redraw problem in Outlook 2010.  After numerous messages back and forth along with my submission of requested files, Nuance sent me a link to a hot fix executable, DNS15HF1.exe.  The link to the file is:

Although my testing has been limited, the hot fix does seem to resolve graphics redraw problem, the "phantom" insertion point problem, and the scrolling problem (associated with messages containing graphics).  I have not yet tested to see if it resolves these problems in Word 2010.
