Hi all,

I just Joined this group because I had a problem with my DNS 12. It seems that I cannot update it to version 12.51 and Nuance simply refusing to help, telling me that there is no support for version 12 anymore and I have to go and buy version 15.

I was wondering if you may know a way to update my version 12 to 12.5 or 12.51? The only patch I have is to update from 12.5 to 12.51 which is not updating the version 12.

Any help is highly appreciated.

Judging by your attachment, your 1st problem isn't the necessity of a patch (which we no longer support or have available). Ver. 12 is ancient history. We recommend  DPI 15.6 . Your serial number is an upgrade from Dragon Premium or Professional 12 so your installation is looking for a previous Dragon installation (Ver. 10 or 11) to upgrade. Fortunately, we can help you with that problem. Change the 3rd digit in your serial number from an 8 to a 0 to finish the installation. When prompted to activate Dragon, change the 0 back to an 8 and you should be good to go because Nuance didn't know any better back then.

PS: When editing your forum profile, it is important to include both your version and edition. Different editions often require different answers. In other words are you using Standard, Preferred or Professional 12.

So, I have to unistall the DNS12 and reinstall it with the given method, and then run the patch file?

We removed your picture because it included your Preferred 12 serial number, which probably doesn't do any harm but nevertheless, should not be made public. If you have a patch and have already launched Dragon, reboot Windows before attempting to install the patch.

I'm not surprised Nuance isn't supporting Version 12. They released it eight years ago, and since then, there have been three major releases and many minor ones.

If you're using Windows 10 and a recent version of Microsoft Office, Version 12, even if you manage to install it, might or might not work reliably.

Your choices are limited. The path of least resistance is to purchase Version 15.
