This doesn't do what I hoped. I was trying to makea vocola command send "isodate" keystrokes to be picked up bya running autohotkey script.I appear to be missing something.

 From my _vocola.vcl isodate = AHK("Send idate"); #send to the idate authotkey

From my loaded autohotkey

::idate:: FormatTime, isodate, , yyyyMMdd SendInput % isodate return

the other way is to use the prefix code to make a hotstring terminator unnecessary:
:*:idate:: FormatTime, isodate, , yyyyMMdd SendInput % isodate return
