I contacted Nuance several weeks ago regarding the DPI 15 graphics redraw problem in Outlook 2010. After numerous messages back and forth along with my submission of requested files, Nuance sent me a link to a hot fix executable, DNS15HF1.exe. The link to the file is:
http://supportcontent.nuance.com/dragon/15/DNS15HF1.exe
Although my testing has been limited, the hot fix does seem to resolve graphics redraw problem, the "phantom" insertion point problem, and the scrolling problem (associated with messages containing graphics). I have not yet tested to see if it resolves these problems in Word 2010. ------------------------- Todd Kermit |

I'm hoping that this is also a fix for Office 2007 (Outlook & Word) including the loss of focus problem.
Are there any rules before applying this hot fix such as, Dragon must not be running and not showing in the task manager when the hot fix is applied? Should we save the hot fix and then apply it or simply just run it? Are there any other rules that need to be undertaken before applying the hot fix? Cheers ------------------------- Tiger Feet |

I downloaded it and tried to install. The install routine purported to shut down natspeak.exe (which I had killed before through the task managed). Afterwards, there was a message that some files were locked. A reboot solved that.
I'm happy to report that in Office 2010 on Windows 7 64 bit, I haven't seen any more issues. Given their previous frequency, I consider the issue resolved. Stephan ------------------------- |

Strange that this fix has not been notified for general release yet through the update service. ------------------------- Jomark

John,
Addendum: it also does not fix the page down problems with emails that contain graphics.

HF1 includes dgnword_x64.dll, dd10sapi.dll, and dgnword.dll updates that I've seen so far.

Can anyone confirm the hot fix resolves the graphics redraw and "phantom" insertion point problems in Outlook and Word 2007?
As I mentioned in my original post, it fixed these problems in Outlook 2010; I can now confirm it also solves them in Word 2010.

We are experiencing some Jumping Cursor problems in Outlook messages that include pictures and go over a page but no issues with documents losing focus. We suspect your loss of focus problem may be connected to another utility. ------------------------- Forum Mission Statement |

If that is the case Lunis, I wish I knew what utility was causing this problem. Could it be to do with me using the UK English version instead of US English?
You may well be right about the focus problem though. I do not suffer any problems with jumping cursors anymore in Outlook 2016 as I did in Outlook 2007. Cheers ------------------------- Tiger Feet |

You can rule out UK English because this is only an accent and vocabulary choice. Your issue is focus which sounds like a third party utility behavior. ------------------------- Forum Mission Statement |
