Hello,
This question has two parts:
Part 1 What are the components of a DPI-15 user file which are custom-created and therefore, critical to save?
For example, I know that the Vocabulary Editor contains custom words as well as custom training & properties. Also, custom commands fall into that category.
What other parts of the user profile should also be included?
Part 2 Can the custom components of a profile be saved and then inserted back into a different or new user profile? How is that done?
Thanks -------------------------
A ____________________ [A LOT OF SPACE] ____________________ LOT
"ALOT" is not a word — it never has been a word and it never will be a word. "A LOT" is 2 words. Remember it as though there's [A LOT OF SPACE] between them. |

Your ~ %LOCALAPPDATA%\Nuance\NS15\Users\[your username] folder contains a number of folders. The key folder is the “Current” folder, which includes all of your custom work. The “Backup” folder is a copy of your “Current” folder which, by default, is overwritten every 5 times you save your profile. You could reduce this size by exporting your personal vocabulary, via Dragon's Manage Vocabulary menu, to export everything in your vocabulary, including pronunciations. Personal commands are even easier to export but we recommend against this procedure. It's much simpler to just make a backup copy of your entire user profile. ------------------------- Forum Mission Statement |
