Just got this microphone. With a little help from Lunis got it going. ------------------------- HP Pavillion dv7;Windows 10 Home; i7 2670-QM @2.2 GHz; 16GB RAM; DPI 15.61; Knowbrainer 2017; Dragon Capture; SpeechStart +; Sennheiser MB Pro 1 UC/ML; Addasound SR2701 |

We recommend trying your Sennheiser MB Pro1 UC/ML Bluetooth headset on your cell phone because you might just be surprised by the clarity. This is the only way we use our iPhone. ------------------------- Forum Mission Statement |

Hi Lunis, forgive me if I have asked this before, but can the Sennheiser MB Pro1 UC/ML be operated hands-free? If not, what features cannot? I also assume this one will not work with Skype/Teams calls. Is that correct?
Thanks, Chad |

You are correct, Lunis. Just trying the MB Pro 1 with my iPhone for the first time.
Sound quality is excellent. There is absolutely no background noise. ------------------------- HP Pavillion dv7;Windows 10 Home; i7 2670-QM @2.2 GHz; 16GB RAM; DPI 15.61; Knowbrainer 2017; Dragon Capture; SpeechStart +; Sennheiser MB Pro 1 UC/ML; Addasound SR2701 |

Good to know. Thank you Lunis. I see that you responded to my question in the "general topics/other" forum. I'll continue my inquiry there unless you think it's better in this forum since a solution you suggested was a Bluetooth headset. Thanks |

"Often I am in the situation where I am dictating for a short period of time such as to finish a patient record."
Same here, I take it off the stand when I am using it, I do not worry about charging it back up I put it back on the stair when I am done. Occasionally it will go dead if I leave it off the stand in a long day, that is pretty rare, I have three of these, have had excellent work from them. I have not noticed any deterioration in battery performance, to any significant degree, since I purchased them in the last three years. ------------------------- mwarddoc |

Keeping the battery fully charged or depleting it entirely makes no difference. This hasn't been an issue for about 10 years. Like mwarddoc, we leave our unit on the charger, except when using it for cell phone calls. However, some of those calls can be fairly long because we also use it for remote support. We used our previous model for about 8 years. The battery was fine but the unit basically fell apart. We've had our current unit for 3 years and although we don't measure the time, it seems to be about as good as the 1st day. ------------------------- Forum Mission Statement |

Thanks for the replies. Another positive aspect. Don't have to worry about it. I really like this microphone. I didn't realize how much the wire really was annoying to deal with. ------------------------- HP Pavillion dv7;Windows 10 Home; i7 2670-QM @2.2 GHz; 16GB RAM; DPI 15.61; Knowbrainer 2017; Dragon Capture; SpeechStart +; Sennheiser MB Pro 1 UC/ML; Addasound SR2701 |

I have used the Audio-Technica Pro 8HEmW for a few years and have been quite happy with it, though the long, sometimes heavy-feeling cord (for my neck injuries) has been a bit trying. But the noise cancellation is wonderful. I'm thinking about trying a wireless headset. I don't think a table Mike would be great because my kids often walk through the room and I tend to listen to music when I work.

You could leave your Sennheiser MB Pro1 UC/ML turned on, as you do with your Audio-Technica Pro 8HEmW and simply control your microphone on/off functionality through voice commands. The only difference is that your MB Pro1 will need to be charged, on the cradle, every 12 hours. When you place your microphone in the charging cradle, it is turned off automatically and when it is removed from the cradle, it turns itself back on. ------------------------- Forum Mission Statement |
