Just got this microphone. With a little help from Lunis got it going.

I really like it. The freedom of being wireless is really great. My desktop is much less cluttered.

It powers on and connects to the dongle almost immediately. Accuracy is great. The speaker is great. There is no hiss or noise. It is very lightweight and comfortable. The ear cushion doesn't bother me at all.

I haven't tried it with my phone yet. I really don't have too much use for Bluetooth with phone calling anyway.

Anybody looking for a good wireless microphone headset, this is a good choice.

We recommend trying your Sennheiser MB Pro1 UC/ML Bluetooth headset on your cell phone because you might just be surprised by the clarity. This is the only way we use our iPhone.

Hi Lunis, forgive me if I have asked this before, but can the Sennheiser MB Pro1 UC/ML be operated hands-free? If not, what features cannot? I also assume this one will not work with Skype/Teams calls. Is that correct?

Thanks,

Chad

You are correct, Lunis.  Just trying the MB Pro 1 with my iPhone for the first time.

Sound quality is excellent.  There is absolutely no background noise.

Question regarding the powering on and off of the MB Pro 1.

Often I am in the situation where I am dictating for a short period of time such as to finish a patient record.

Is it better to continually power on and power off the microphone or is it better to leave it on the charging stand and have it charge continuously?

Also, is it better to let their batteries run down and then recharge it or is it better to let it charge continuously?

The MB Pro1 is not hands-free.

Good to know. Thank you Lunis. I see that you responded to my question in the "general topics/other" forum. I'll continue my inquiry there unless you think it's better in this forum since a solution you suggested was a Bluetooth headset. Thanks

Same here, I take it off the stand when I am using it, I do not worry about charging it back up I put it back on the stair when I am done. Occasionally it will go dead if I leave it off the stand in a long day, that is pretty rare, I have three of these, have had excellent work from them.

I have not noticed any deterioration in battery performance, to any significant degree, since I purchased them in the last three years.

Keeping the battery fully charged or depleting it entirely makes no difference. This hasn't been an issue for about 10 years. Like mwarddoc, we leave our unit on the charger, except when using it for cell phone calls. However, some of those calls can be fairly long because we also use it for remote support. We used our previous model for about 8 years. The battery was fine but the unit basically fell apart. We've had our current unit for 3 years and although we don't measure the time, it seems to be about as good as the 1st day.

Thanks for the replies.  Another positive aspect. Don't have to worry about it.

I really like this microphone.

I didn't realize how much the wire really was annoying to deal with.

I have used the Audio-Technica Pro 8HEmW for a few years and have been quite happy with it, though the long, sometimes heavy-feeling cord (for my neck injuries) has been a bit trying. But the noise cancellation is wonderful. I'm thinking about trying a wireless headset. I don't think a table Mike would be great because my kids often walk through the room and I tend to listen to music when I work.

Lunis said that this microphone is not hands-free. It's problematic for me to press buttons regularly. Is that something I would have to do with the Sennheiser MB Pro one?

Thank you.

You could leave your Sennheiser MB Pro1 UC/ML turned on, as you do with your Audio-Technica Pro 8HEmW and simply control your microphone on/off functionality through voice commands. The only difference is that your MB Pro1 will need to be charged, on the cradle, every 12 hours. When you place your microphone in the charging cradle, it is turned off automatically and when it is removed from the cradle, it turns itself back on.

Apparently the model number of the EPOS/Sennheiser IMPACT MB Pro 1 UC ML has changed from 506043 to 1000565. Is there any difference with this new model?

We are beginning to think that Sennheiser just likes changing the name, model number and sometimes even the color but this is the same microphone.
