So tonight for whatever reason, the Microphone Gods decided that my wireless Bluetooth microphones will not be allowed to connect with my laptop, and I had work that I had to get done tonight, before midnight. I had a choice, drive 50 miles round trip to the office and pick up the Phillips Speechmike. OR Several months ago, I was going through old equipment and discarding things from the last 20 years, I found the old VXI Translator USB Sound Card and the Sennheiser ME3 microphone that I purchased from Knowbrainer in approximately 2004, I kept them for reasons of cluttering up my garage so that people will be confused if they break in to steal anything.
So, I plugged them into my Dell laptop, it installed, and I'll be damned the thing still works.
I couldn't get it to work with Dragon Medical versions 4, 7, and 8, but it would probably be more appropriate to say that I couldn't get those versions to work, and the microphone was fine.
I even dictated this with it.
I think I will keep it until I die, so my kids can wonder what the heck it is when they clean the garage out. ------------------------- mwarddoc |

The VXi Translator USB soundcard utilizes the same Texas Instruments patented sound chip as all of today's USB soundcards. It is about 3 times larger than today's equivalent systems and a tad clumsy with its 4 wires but accuracy is top shelf. The same can be said for your Sennheiser ME3 so your sound system stacks up to any of today's offerings. ------------------------- Forum Mission Statement |

"stacks up to any of today's offerings"
That's what I tell my patients about myself, when compared to younger doctors. I'm about 40 pounds larger, but and progressively more clumsy, but top shelf otherwise. ------------------------- mwarddoc |
