Setup I use now is Parallells on a x86_64 Intel Mac to run DPI 15.3, a 32-bit app. However, Apple announced they are transitioning away from Intel in the next few years to run their own chips. Parallells as an Intel app will not run under the Rosetta transition layer. In layman's terms, I either have to
1. get a new machine pretty soon to stay on the older Intel architecture (likely a 16" rMBP wth 64GB RAM to also help with my photography and videography work), OR 2. Hope that a native virtualization solution comes along that runs in Apple's new 64-bit ARM / Apple SoC architecture that will allow me to run Windows on the older Intel architecture, and then 32 bit voice recognition on that, all in emulation, OR 3. Go to Windows full time.
Thoughts? ------------------------- 13" rMBP 2.4 GHz Intel quad-core i5 8th-gen Mac OS X 10.15.7 “Catalina" DPI 15.3 on Windows 10 (20H2, Build 19042.685) via Parallels Desktop 16.1.2 |

I am in a somewhat similar boat. All of my computers and devices are Apple/Mac. For a new job, I will need my own device and my own Dragon so I have to decide what to get. For sure, I will get a Windows 10 laptop. Trying to decide which one - lots of options.

I'm also looking for Lenove ThinkPad. But I'm waiting for Black Friday sale so I will buy this on Black Friday from any website those offering discount & coupons. As usually I got this types of offers from EMUCoupon. |
