I am unable to use mobile computer any longer with my hands. With whatsapp becoming a method to communicate even professionally, I was wondering if there is a way to use Dragon NaturallySpeaking with it.

I used the web version of whatsapp. I can type the messages using Dragon NaturallySpeaking but there is no easy way to select a contact

the web version of whatsapp has got the contacts listed on the left side with a scroll bar. Is there a way in Dragon to operate the scrollbar in a window within a web form. For example, even while typing this message I do not know if there is a way to operate the scrollbar that appears in the message window. So I guess these two problems are similar and a solution to one. The other

there is also a possibility to search for the contact name. However, if I manually type the first letters of a contact, whatsapp will show a list of names of contacts beginning with that letter

but if I do the same thing using Dragon in spell mode, whatsapp does not show the list of names. I'm not sure if there is any way around it but just putting it out there in case anyone has any inputs

Using Dragon NaturallySpeaking premium version 13 with knowbrainer 2017 on Windows 7 machine with Microsoft Office version 2010

Assuming you are using a professional version of Dragon, you could create a mouse command but your contact list positioning probably changes so this option would at best, only work temporarily. SpeechStart+ includes a SHOW Numbers command which will number everything on the page, if you're using Internet Explorer; not Google Chrome or Firefox. The very soon to be released KnowBrainer 2016 also includes DISPLAY Numbers which is a stripped-down version of the SHOW Numbers command.

Assuming you are using Dragon 13/14, KnowBrainer 2016 will include around 65 open ended search & find commands, which will work in any edition of Dragon. We are not familiar with whatsapp but for example, if pressing {Ctrl+f} opens the Find field you won’t even have to create your own command. For example, if you want to search for “Bob Jones” just say Find Bob Jones. This is 1 of the biggest improvements that were added to Dragon 13. Typing a few letters is a cool trick for archaic typist but doesn’t hold a match to Dragon Advanced-Scripting. There is no need to resort to Spell Mode either.

Hello,

I am able to use my Android mobile device hands-free using using Voice Access, this enables me to navigate the phone screens and dictate text.

I tend to use the Windows 10 app for WhatsApp. However I do not directly dictate into it. Instead I use a custom Dictation Box and transfer the text.

You can also use Voice Access (Show Numbers + +), as Mark said, (and Switch Control) with iOS or Android to control WhatsApp directly on your phone, both voice access and Switch control are built into android and iOS. There are plenty of videos on new tube demonstrating both Switch Control and Voice Access

Screenshot for Speechstart+ below, with the screenshot below you would just say "Show Flags", "47" and then start spelling (or dictating) the name of your contact (very easy with Dragon).

I don't know if there are any differences between Dragon profession or academic.

But i'm using Dragon Academic variant and wanna know if i can use it with speechstart+ & Whatsapp web.

Another way to control your mobilephone from your PC using Dragon is to load Teamviewer Quick Support on your telephone and then Teamviewer on your PC and remotely connect. Works a treat.
